SDMT held a Competition to Celebrate the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day

SDMT Ponorogo held various competitions to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Indonesia Independence Day on Friday (23/8/2024). Various competitions were held for students and teachers.

Competitions for students are held per Class at different locations. Class 1, test teamwork with a relay race to move the flag. Class 2, arrange the puzzle of Indonesian Independence heroes picture. Class 3, arrange the puzzle of many islands in Indonesia. Class 4, had fun playing with water by filling water in the pipe. Class 5, shooting the target, it needs focus. Meanwhile, class 6 had General Sudirman stretcher competition. It teaches students to feel the meaning of struggle.

Ustadz Condro as the host of the event, said that each competition is related to the history of Indonesia’s struggle for independence. So, children learned about Indonesian history through exciting games.

The teachers also had competition activities. There are two types of competitions for teachers, namely relay races and transfers of plastic bottles filled with water. the students’ turn to enthusiastically support their respective champions ustadz and ustadzah who were competing in the competition.

From each type of competition were selected two winners. The winners will get the prizes have been prepared by the committee. However, the main goal of this competition is certainly not only to get the prizes. But to cultivate a sense of nationalism towards the Indonesian nation and cultivate solidarity and togetherness in teams. Happy Independence Day for the Republic of Indonesia.
